Multipower Protein Smoothie Review [Orange Mango & Raspberry Blueberry]

After a hot sweaty session down the gym or a hard afternoon sparring with my jujitsu buddies, I look forward to a refreshing drink to quench my first. However, the first liquid I want to consume would be a protein drink so that I can repair and grow my muscles after having exhausted them during training. Can whey protein be refreshing? Supplement brand Multipower certainly thinks so as they’ve produced a ready-to-drink (RTD), whey protein-based drink that is just what I’m looking for, particularly in the summer months.

In this review, I’ll be taking a look at the Multipower Protein Smoothie in both Orange Mango and Raspberry Blueberry flavours.

Multipower Protein Smoothie

Orange Mango Protein Smoothie

Unlike your usually whey protein which arrives in powder format ready to be scooped and added to your shaker bottle full of water or milk, Multipower Protein Smoothie comes in a bottle, ready to drink on the go. With a foil lid underneath the plastic, screw cap, you can expect utter freshness of the protein drink inside until you remove the foil flap which seals it.

The handy 330ml bottles, which arrive in packs of 8, are small enough to shove in the fridge without taking up much room and trust me, you’ll want to keep these bad boys chilled for that extra refreshing bite.

When opening the Orange Mango variant of the Multipower Protein Smoothie, I’m greeted by a fruit mango scent and the creamy yellow drink. To look at, it doesn’t look any more appealing than the ordinary shakes but the proof is in the taste. Taking a swig of the Protein Smoothie, its thicker texture is ultra smooth on the tastebuds without a single lump in sight. The fruity orange mango taste is so tantalising, almost like a glass of fresh juice in the morning, but is not too sweet thanks to its fruit concentrate and use of sweeteners. Consuming the smoothie at room temperature is lovely but drinking from a chilled fridge is something else!! The combination of fruity taste and the punch of the chill really work together in beautiful harmony.

The Raspberry Blueberry flavoured smoothie isn’t as scented upon opening as the Orange Mango. The pastel pink coloured smoothie might not be much to look at but the flavour floods your tastebuds with its powerful fruity berry ingredients! Ultra smooth in texture and the right thickness to really enjoy, the Multipower Raspberry Blueberry Protein Smoothie is just as delicious and refreshing as the Orange Mango, both of which just explode with flavour especially when chilled.

Overall Opinion

The heat-treated Multipower Protein Smoothie is low in fat and high in protein with its delivery of 26g of protein per bottle, and its fruit content makes it such a wonderful alternative to your usual whey protein powder based drinks or an actual yoghurt. Even consuming this at work on your break would give you a refreshing kick that a yoghurt just wouldn’t deliver and what’s better is that there’s no mess with its RTD-format a simple open-and-drink. The handy size bottles will fit in any gym bag or even handbag for a handy protein replenishment on the go, whether from the gym, from work or before heading to a martial arts session.

As a consumer of whey protein, I must admit I prefer these in taste to the whey protein powders with the fruity flavour an absolute tastebud sensation. Whey powder will go a lot further but these ready-to-drink smoothies are far much less mess than mauling about with a shaker bottle at the gym or at work. I think using both protein powders and these RTD protein smoothies could be advantageous with the Protein Smoothies the go-to choice for protein when you’re on the move or in the office or gym when you want quick protein without the hassle or mess of powder. Plus, these fruity smoothies will give you the much-needed kick during the warmer months when all you want to do is drink something cold and refreshing.

Both flavours are delicious in their own way and I like them equally so if you wondering which to go for, you couldn’t really go wrong with either.
