Karate Belts come in a variety of colours and lengths to match your grade and size. Karate gradings often require the student to perform sets of katas to gain the next colour of karate belt. In most karate schools, the colours of belt include: white, yellow, orange, blue, purple, brown, red and black. Each school tends to have their own Karate belt system, with red anywhere at the lower end of the grading spectrum to before the black belt or after achieving the black belt. Karate belts tend to be made from 100% cotton and some martial arts shops offer belt embroidery services.
