Real Boxing, the highly anticipated Unreal-powered boxing title from Vivid Games, launches today across Europe for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, available via PlayStation Network. To celebrate the launch, from today Vivid will be hosting a two-week long tournament – the Real Boxing Vita European Championship.

Running until September 11th, players will have the chance to go glove-to-glove against other potential champions from around the world to compete for the title. The winner will also receive a PlayStation Vita, to bring another friend into the fray.

Entry to the tournament is accessible via the in-game multiplayer menu, alongside ad-hoc and online single matches with friends and random players. More leaderboard-based tournaments will also be announced in coming months.

“We’re thrilled that launch day has arrived and players will be able to get their hands on the Vita’s first boxing simulation,” said Remi Koscielny, CEO, Vivid Games. “With the Championship starting today, players can jump into the multiplayer action immediately – we’re looking forward to seeing the result in two weeks time and congratulating the first Real Boxing Champion.”

Real Boxing brings all the brutal effects of fighting in the ring right into your hands through the use of the mighty Unreal 3 Engine and considerable power of the PlayStation Vita. A wide range of single and multiplayer modes are available, showcasing brand new analogue controls, highly customizable fighters and a real-time deformation engine showing every duck, jab and uppercut in bone-jarring detail – all in a variety of stadium and gym locations.

Real Boxing is rated PEGI 16, priced €9.99/£7.99.
